Sexual Addiction: What Every Clinician Needs to Know by Paul Kelner LCSW-C
9am-12pm
3 CEU's
In the first part of the workshop, the discussion will include how to assess for problematic sexual behavior, the impact of compulsive sexual behavior on relationships and families, types of compulsive sexual behaviors, how sexual addiction interacts with other psychiatric conditions and addictive behaviors and models for treating compulsive sexual behavior.

The second part of the workshop will feature a panel of several representatives of Sexaholics Anonymous (SA), a 12-Step fellowship program, who will share their personal stories of recovery.

Ambiguous Loss: Grieving Someone Who Is Still Alive by Litsa Willaims LCSW-C
1pm-4pm
3 CEU's
Ambiguous grief is a concept in grief therapy referring to the experience of grieving someone who is still living, an experience that can arise for many reasons. This CEU will explore losses including, but not limited to, addiction, mental illness, Alzheimers and dementia, kidnapping, estrangement, and discovering 'secrets'. We will review research around these losses and consider the specific reactions in these circumstances. The session will cover appropriate grief counseling approaches for supporting individuals coping with ambiguous loss.

A portion of event ticket sales will be donated to Living In Recovery, LLC, a non-profit organization providing sober living homes in Howard County.
