Event description

Description

In the Spring of 2020, rich colors will sweep along the brick façade of ArtsWestchester’s nine-story neoclassical building in downtown White Plains and you can be a part of it!

Join the artist, Amanda Browder and members of the community to create the 9-story fabric sculpture, “Metropolis Sunrise.” Ms. Browder is a New York State textile artist whose large-scale public installations bring communities together at every level, from the “crowdsourcing" of fabric to public sewing days.

Beginning in January 2020 ArtsWestchester, under the guidance of Ms. Browder will host a series of sewing days at various locations throughout Westchester, including our Gallery in White Plains.

These events are a perfect opportunity for anyone with an interest in sewing or public art to add a stitch to the fabric of our artistic community. No sewing experience is needed and all are welcome.

The sewing days will be held at a variety of venues and times, so please pay careful attention to which day you register for. For the full list of sewing days, click here.

You can register to attend the sewing days in ArtsWestchester’s Gallery by RSVP’ing on this page or by contacting Will Bermingham at wbermingham@artswestchester.org or by phone at 914-428-4220.

If you still want to be involved, but can't make it to a sewing day you can find out where to donate fabric or how to make a financial contribution, by clicking here.
