Learn how to read, understand, and follow sewing patterns with confidence:

  • How to interpret pattern instructions, transfer markings, and determine construction order.
  • Garment fitting, notches, seam allowances, and fabric layout.
  • Perfect for those ready to move from sewing practice to finished pieces.

Prerequisite: Factory 3's Sewing 2 class or equivalent — comfort with sewing machine and basic seam types.

Tools & supplies: All fabric will be provided. Sewing machines and all tools will be provided, but you are also welcome to bring your own. Your machine must be in good working condition.

About the instructor:Jillian Carrozza graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC, as well as Central Saint Martins in London, UK, specializing in fashion design with knitwear. With a passion for textiles, she has worked in costuming, window displays, home décor, consulting and quality assurance. She is happy to bring her 25 years of sewing experience into teaching.
