Sew your own jeans 

You must have made a couple of garments using a pattern on your own before attending this class. If not then try the Make a skirt class first
Want to take your sewing to the next level and make a professional looking pair of jeans? 

Want to stretch your sewing skills and make yourself the perfect jean? Choose from closet case files patterns to create a high waisted skinny jean, a classic boot cut, an on trend pair of flares or a casual boyfriend Jean.

This intermediate dressmaking class will teach you how to make a fabulous pair of made to measure jeans. Available as a 2 day course over 2 consecutive weekends, or 4 evening sessions over 4 weeks.

Over this course you will cover fitting tips, different seam finishes for jeans, some tricks for getting the perfect waistband and neat Topstitching.

In this class you will learn:

• how to use a commercial sewing pattern
• how to lay and cut a pattern
• how to sew a front fly
• how to fit trousers
• how to use different seam finishes
• How to install jeans hardware

Cost: £150 (max number of 5 students per session)
Time: 11am – 6 pm on weekends, 6.30-9.30 pm on weeknights. Arrive on time as session starts promptly!
Materials required: Pattern: choice between ginger jeans and Morgan jeans. (Patterns can be purchased here). Ginger jeans: Between 2-3 metres (depending on size see here for more info) of stretch denim with at least 2% stretch. Morgan jeans: Between 2-3 metres (depending on size see here for more info) of non-stretch denim. Please check other notions needed on link above and bring those too. If you need help with fabric/notions please contact me.
Refreshments: Unlimited tea, coffee and snacks provided. Do Bring along a sandwich for lunch.

Claire-Louise Hardie is the Sewing Producer to "The Great British Sewing Bee" and Author of "The Great British Sewing Bee- Fashion with Fabric" She's also a professional Costumier and Guest presenter on Create and Craft TV.  We offer small sized, friendly sewing classes and courses in Stoke Newington North London. 

Our mission is to de-mystify the art of sewing and clothes making, showing you just how easy and fun it can be. We offer a range of contemporary sewing classes, suitable for adults at all levels. Fitting is our passion, and we love to helping students make clothes that fit.
