Event description

Description

Learn first-hand how a housing structure can work for you, using only rain, wind and the sun!

...and by attending this tour, you'll help a family move into a self-heating home by Christmas.

Tour features the background and basics of earth contact home construction, thermal mass heat storage, solar electrical systems, water recycling systems and rammed earth principles, presented by Allen and Mary Severin, and the staff of Clement Waters.

The Backstory

After working on constructing a home that uses absolutely nothing but rainwater and renewable energy, the Severins are close to the finish. Before they finish the interior, though, they want to give others the opportunity to see and feel the technology behind the wall. This includes:

  • Zero-cost Heating and Cooling
  • Renewable Electricity Generation
  • Rainwater Filtering and Re-use (4 times before discard!)

Join the Severins and the staff at Clement Waters to celebrate the modern-day technology developments that make building with mud an "advanced construction technique." Find out what you need to know so that you can start building your own sustainable projects!

At Clement Waters, we believe that sustainable homes (that cost inhabitants much less money than conventional housing does) should be available to more of the world's population.
