Event and venue professionals thrive in an environment that requires both careful preparation and the ability to adapt to new information. But recent history shows that severe weather can disrupt even the best-laid plans. When it does, the results can be catastrophic.
Continuing with our mission to provide the event industry with relevant & practical learning opportunities, Event Safety Alliance® is excited to announce the return of the Severe Weather Summit. The Severe Weather Summit is designed to aid event, sports, and venue professionals in preparing for and responding to dangerous weather conditions. Over the course of two days at the National Weather Center’s Storm Prediction Center in Norman, OK, subject matter experts from NOAA and the National Weather Service will introduce participants to short-fused severe weather incidents that can threaten all types of events and venues, as well as the steps to develop a severe weather preparedness plan.
Understanding severe weather is a science all to itself. The Severe Weather Summit will provide attendees with the knowledge necessary to identify and prepare for potential threats, and how to use existing technology and expertise in order to safely handle a severe weather event.
