The festival will feature live entertainment, various soy- and tofu-related vendors, free samples, a raffle including a Grand Prize of a $1,500 Toto Washlet, an educational component highlighting the various uses of soy, audience participation games including a Tofu Eating Contest, a children’s activity area and a Soy and Tofu Dessert Competition.

Now in its seventh year, the Northern California Soy and Tofu Festival is a popular culinary and cultural event that serves as the main fundraiser for the Nichi Bei Foundation.
The mission of the Northern California Soy and Tofu Festival is to educate the public about the health benefits and various uses of soy and tofu. In adhering to these goals, the Northern California Soy and Tofu Festival — an annual fundraiser for the Nichi Bei Foundation — strives to be a vehicle for community-building and leadership development while adhering to the Foundation’s mission of keeping the community connected, informed and empowered.
*Proceeds from the Festival help to publish the first nonprofit ethnic community newspaper of its kind in the country, the Nichi Bei Weekly. No refunds or exchange allowed on tickets.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Muni Geary 38 has a stop at Gough and Geary, which is the closest to the Event Center at Saint Mary's Cathedral. Parking in the neighborhood is limited so we recommend taking public transporation (Muni, Uber, Lyft, etc.) Certain sponsorship levels come with reserved parking spots.

What's the refund policy?
Tickets are not refundable. However, all ticket proceeds go to benefitting the Nichi Bei Foundation to continue to publish the Nichi Bei Weekly — the first nonprofit ethnic community newspaper of its kind in the country — and its Website, http://www.nichibei.org/.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Is this a vegan event? Are there animal products sold / served at the event?
Even though our food and artisan vendors are selling primarily soy and tofu-related products, some of these products do contain animal products (such as meat, fish broth, milk etc.) This event is not 100% plant-based.
