FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the refund policy?

Please note that we will be unable to give refunds for tickets after 5 PM on Monday, March 27, 2017.  To request a refund, please email newieegala@gmail.com.

May I pay for my Gala Ticket by Check?

Sure!  Please make your check out to "NEWIEE". Include a cover letter for how many tickets you would like to purchase and the name, title, company, and email address(es) of the person/people using the tickets.  Mail to P.O. Box 381154, Cambridge, MA 02238-1154.  Once your payment is received, we will enter the names and ticket quantities for your purchase into Eventbrite and send you an email confirmation.  Please allow 10 days for processing.

NOTE: If you are purchasing a ticket by check within two weeks of the Event, please send your name, title, company name, email address and number of tickets to newieegala@gmail.com and make sure we receive your check at least three days in advance of the Gala.  We can not hold seats for which tickets are not paid.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Tickets may not be available at the door as we expect to sell out and have to give a food head count several days in advance.  If you are unsure, please email newieegala@gmail.com to see if tickets are still available.

Is there a Discount Available for Students / Government / Non-Profit Organizations?

NEWIEE is a non-profit organization and the Gala is our major annual fundraiser to support NEWIEE programs throughout the year.  There are no discounts offered at this event.  Your support allows us to offer discounts at other events, as well as a reduced price annual membership.  Thank you for your support!

What is the "Rising Star" Award?

NEWIEE created a new award in 2016, in honor of Allison Smith.

Allison Smith, who was well known to many in the energy community, lost her life in a car accident in February 2015. She approached her work on regional electric matters with confidence, respect and grace. She cared deeply about the climate implications of our energy choices, and this passion influenced her choices about her education, her personal pursuits and her work. She is remembered for her intelligence, inquisitive nature and incomparable ability to create good cheer. In honor of Allison, NEWIEE created the “Rising Star Award” in 2016, to be given to a woman who has less than ten years’ experience in her field, and who has demonstrated a commitment to and positive impact on her field, both professionally and in her personal endeavors.

How can I contact the organizer with questions?

Please feel free to contact Jacquie Ashmore with any questions.  You can also reach Jacquie at 617-353-7422, newieegala@gmail.com.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Yes, your registration/ticket is transferrable, but we do request you contact us ahead of time so that we will have the appropriate name tag waiting for the attendee who is using the ticket.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, you are not required to bring your ticket with you.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

It is fine if you are coming in place of someone and your name does not match the original attendee who purchased the ticket.  We ask, however, that you please let us know as soon as you can about this switch so that we may have the proper name tag waiting for you at the event.

What is the attire?
