ABOUT THE WINEMAKER

Mauro Manzone represents one of the top wineries in the barolo commune of Monforte d'Alba‎. The farm, founded in 1925 relied upon mixed agricultural use to sustain the family, until more recent generations, which have turned more distinctly to wine production as the international acclaim of barolo wine grew.

The wines come from some of the top terroirs in the zone and represent very different styles due to the wineries unique exposition. The two crus are castelletto and gramolere, each offering distinct styles, gramolere, open and opulent, castelletto elegant, powerful, and poised.

Mauro ‎represents the new wave of barolo producers, bringing new ideas while respecting tradition. His wines are always approachable, yet incredibly ageable. Within the portfolio there are wines of styles to suit everyone from the fresh fruity barbera, aromatic rosesse bianco white, fresh and taught nebbiolo, and powerful ageable jaw dropping barolos.
