ABOUT THE SHOW
Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical JR., a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.
Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!
ABOUT CAMP MUSART
Camp MusArt, offers students a safe, inspiring and unique immersive experience into the world of musical theatre through music, art, dance and drama.
Limited to 50 students, participants ages 7-15 explore their creativity over 5 weeks as they work together with their instructors to produce a musical. Many have never been onstage before, nor integrated multiple arts disciplines into one performance. They are challenged to move beyond their comfort zones and constantly amaze their instructors with their talent, bravery and willingness to learn.
Camp MusArt is held Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and includes daily lessons in music, art, dance and drama along with special activities and field trips, and culminates in a ticketed live fully-produced performance for family, friends, and community members on the last day of each session.
