Description

Every high school student has a dream college.

When you’re competing against a pool of academically excellent students all fighting for one acceptance spot, it’s imperative that every aspect of your application is polished to perfection.

Wherever your dream school is, you’ve already asked yourself:

1. How do I stand out from the competition beyond just test scores and academics?

2. How do admissions committees decide between equally qualified students?

3. What are the most time efficient decisions I can make to improve my application?

4. What to do as a traditionally over-represented California applicant?

5. What to do if you are waitlisted at a university?

In the past 2 years, Crimson has helped students secure a myriad of offers to Ivy League Colleges and $24 million in scholarships.

Our global team of over 2,000 ex-admissions officers, strategists, and elite tutors have helped thousands of students get into their dream schools, and we’ll give you insider information to get you into your best fit university.

At this event, we’ll share knowledge that we’ve spent years acquiring. Our network has thousands of graduates and current students at top US colleges. We have access to thousands of successful Common App essays and résumés. We've read them and summarized the learnings so you don't have to.

Oh and the best part? There will be pizza & soft drinks!

The speakers:

Anjali Bhatia - University of Pennsylvania & Duke University

Anjali Bhatia is a 2015 MBA graduate of The Wharton School, where she was on the Joseph Wharton Fellowship, a competitive merit scholarship. She majored in Entrepreneurial Management and Marketing & Operations. Prior to Wharton, she worked as a Strategy & Innovation Consultant for Accenture, where she had a focus on education clients. She has previously founded two nonprofits, Discover Worlds (’06) and ChangeEducate (’09). She completed her undergraduate degree in Neuroeconomics at Duke University, where she was on the prestigous Robertson Scholarship, which provides a full merit scholarship for both tuition and summer enrichment. She currently is heading Crimson's LA & SF operations.

Jonah Moroh - Harvard University

Jonah hails from Chicago, Illinois and is currently pursuing a Social Studies degree with a focus on Economics from Harvard University. His path to Harvard was strenuous at best — as an early action applicant, he was deferred and ultimately waitlisted during the regular decision round. However, luck was on his side when he received a call from the admission’s department inviting him to join the freshman class in May of his senior year. Since his matriculation to Harvard, Jonah has developed a strong background in management consulting through his work with the Harvard College Consulting Group and the TAMID Group. He spent his last summer interning at the Israeli VC firm Arba Finance in Tel Aviv and forging connections in the fast-paced startup ecosystem.

At Crimson, Jonah directs the Extracurricular and Leadership Consulting Division, which aims to help students develop their extracurricular profile and embark on passionate capstone projects. His goal is not only to aid students in their college applications, but to help help shape them into exemplary people both at college and beyond.

Soraya Beheshti - Columbia University

Soraya Beheshti is a 21-year old honors student at Columbia University, at which she is pursuing a dual major degree in Middle Eastern Studies and Film and an additional concentration in Anthropology. She has extensive volunteer experience, having worked as a volunteer teacher in Vietnam, as well as in refugee camps around the Middle East and Europe. She spent last summer studying at the MENA Summer Institute - Columbia’s Global Center in Amman, Jordan. Soraya has since founded a nonprofit organization called Karvan, which is creating a non-monetary economic system that connects citizens and refugees around the world through skill exchanges. She was awarded the Columbia Innovation Grant and is currently a finalist for the Tech.Co Startup of the Year competition. On top of this, she runs a conscious living blog, where she creates content related to eco-travel, ethical consumerism and plant-based diets.

Edward Wu - University of Pennsylvania

Edward received double degrees from the University of Pennsylvania through the school’s competitive sub-matriculation track in 2015. Soon before completing his undergraduate degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE), he realized that he wanted to explore a more creative academic and professional domain. Penn’s School of Engineering houses one of the world’s few Integrated Product Design (IPD) programs which provided an incredible opportunity for him to merge his business interests with human-centric design. Through combining his studies, Edward finished both degrees in five years, saving both time and money. After his studies, he was appointed as an associate professor of marketing at the University of Navarra in Spain.

During his time at Penn, he was involved in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities include: Penn Electric Racing, ATO fraternity, LGBT leadership, and Wharton Entrepreneurship. He now runs his own social technology startup in Los Angeles.
