Description

Session Three: Problem Solving Approaches in STEM
(Spring into STEM: A Workshop Series for Early Childhood Educators)
Date | Time: Wednesday, April 3, 2019, 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm
Trainer: Orinthia Harris
In today's world where information is so easy to acquire, it is less important for students to access information to help them problem solve, than it is for them to use information to create new solutions to ongoing problems. Educators will learn how to embed problem-solving in early childhood-elementary academic activities. They will also get tips on how to guide their students to draw from prior knowledge and solve real-world problems. Teachers will engage in project -based learning simulations to create lessons to help their students meet the DC Curriculum expectations for math and science.
