Session II: Returning to Campus, Deepening into Mindfulness
Event Information
About this event
As we transition back to campus and back into the classroom, the need for balance, perspective, and self-compassion is as strong as ever. As mindfulness teacher Pema Chodron reminds us, “We don’t sit in meditation to become good meditators. We sit in meditation so that we’ll be more awake in our lives.”
On Thursday, October 21, from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m., you are invited to participate in session II of a virtual mindfulness series led by mindfulness educator, Alison Cohen. Through guided meditation, exploring different mindfulness practices and tools, and group discussion, this series is an opportunity to expand your understanding of foundational aspects of mindfulness. While this series is aimed at educators and other school-based professionals, the tools and practices we’ll apply and discuss have broad relevance and sessions are open to everyone. Participants are encouraged to participate in the full series or individual sessions as you are able; no prior experience with mindfulness or meditation is required.
This series will be offered every Thursday at 7:00 p.m. ET until November 18. Please reach out to tanginstitute@andover.edu with questions.
