Session 5 - 7/10/17 to 7/20/17 - 6:00 to 7:00pm
Mon, Jul 10, 2017, 6:00 PM – Thu, Jul 20, 2017, 7:00 PM EDT
Our program is built around a consistent and intense methodology to ensure that all swimmers can be safe, comfortable, and confident in the water. According to the CDC, among those ages 1-14, fatal drowning remains the second-leading cause of unintentional injury-related death behind motor vehicle crashes. With accidental drowning causing so many lives every year, water safety is our top priority. Once the swimmers are water safe, their confidence will tremendously increase allowing them to master stroke technique with ease.
Session and Class Duration: Sessions run for two consecutive weeks from Monday to Thursday. There are no lessons on Fridays! During each session, a 5:00 and 6:00 class will be offered. During Session 4 only, a 10:00 to 11:00 am class will also be offered. Classes are between 45 and 60 minutes long. Ideally, there will be a 1:5 instructor to participant ratio.
Session 1 – May 1 to May 11

Missed Classes: Make-up classes ARE NOT offered or permitted for any reason. Additionally, if there is a fecal accident, time WILL NOT and CANNOT be made up. To prevent these accidents, do not bring your child to lessons if he/she is sick or has been sick in the last 48 hours. Waterborne illness is a serious issue! Furthermore, DO NOT feed your child at least 30 minutes prior to the lesson. Vomit will also cause a clearing of the pool which terminates all lessons for the day.

Beginner – Any child 4-5 years old who cannot swim across the pool on his/her back is considered a beginner. Beginners must be fully potty trained for at least 6 months prior to the start of lessons.
Goal: Jump in, surface on back, and swim 10 yards without assistance.
Advanced Beginner – Children will work on freestyle skills with proper rhythmic breathing. Backstroke will also be introduced. If your child is 6 or older and lacks any swimming experience, there will be a group of advanced beginners for that specific ability level.
Goal: Swim freestyle with proper breathing for 10 yards of the pool.
Intermediate – Children will refine freestyle stroke efficiency and endurance to swim 25 yards. Backstroke and diving are taught and reinforced.
Goal: To swim 25 yards both of freestyle and backstroke using proper technique.
Advanced – Children will work on elements of competitive swimming. In addition to freestyle and backstroke, this level will work on breaststroke, butterfly, starts, and turns.
Goal: To prepare for competitive swimming
Elite – Competitive swimmers who are participants of swim teams will work on stroke refinement. A prerequisite is for these participants is to know and be able to swim at least 15 yards of each stroke (freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, and breast stroke). Participants at this level must have the endurance to swim multiple laps in a row.
Goal: To legally and efficiently swim all 4 strokes on a swim team
