Description

ADDRESSING THE OPIOID EPIDEMIC: Treatment, Recovery, Overdose Prevention and Cross-Cultural Implications

This two-day training session is offered four times. This event is for Session #3 on March 14th and 15th, 2018.

The session will run from 8:30am - 4:30pm - registration starts at 8:00 am.

The training will cover a wide-range of issues related to opioid dependency, treatment and overdose prevention, including stigma and other barriers to effective treatment and overdose prevention. It will also provide a foundation of knowledge, awareness and skills for effective interaction with people of diverse backgrounds, including people experiencing opioid use disorder.

Approval for certification hours from the Connecticut Certification Board and for CEUs from the CT Chapter of NASW are pending.

This initiative is funded through funds from the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) through the 21st Century Cures Act to combat the opioid crisis.
