Most nonprofits are facing financial stress because of the pandemic. Learn strategies for enhancing your sustainability and effectiveness.

About this Event

National data on the nonprofit sector show that many organizations are facing financial stresses. This session explores how you can avoid crisis traps and take charge of your organization's future.

Disruption to programs and pressure on staff may also motivate organizations to look for ways to change their business model, partner with other organizations, or adjust programming to better match their mission.

Learn about approaches that can help you focus and strengthen your organization’s core mission in the face of COVID and the economic downturn:

  • Understand how your business model may fare during the economic downturn
  • Consider strategies that increase program alignment and impact
  • Learn about restructuring options such as outsourcing, fiscal sponsorships, back-office consolidations, and partnerships or mergers

Presenters

Join a panel of presenters to discuss how to manage the financial stress facing most organizations. The presenters are:

Jan Glick - Author of Nonprofit Turnaround: A Guide for Nonprofit Leaders, Consultants and Funders, Jan Glick has been president of Jan Glick & Associates since 1996. He has been a nonprofit executive and has consulted or facilitated 32 nonprofit partnerships and mergers.

Kerry Kozuki - Director of Management Consulting and Services, 501 Commons. Kerry has an undergraduate degree from British Columbia Institute of Technology. He later received his MBA at the University of Washington and gained his Six Sigma Black Belt certification from Villanova University. Before joining 501 Commons, his career has largely been in hospitality, including managing hotel operations at the Washington Athletic Club for eight years.

Julleen Snyder, CPA, CGMA - Partner Jacobson Jarvis. Juleen has both practical experience within a nonprofit organization, as well as a solid background in accounting and nonprofit auditing.

Nancy Long, Executive Director, 501 Commons has worked in health care and nonprofit capacity building to advance a more equitable community. She oversaw the acquisition of several organizations into 501 Commons and participated in several mergers and restructuring processes in health care organizations.

Tickets

Organizations with a budget under $1 million are eligible for a $20 discount, which will show up in the ticket options.
