What Nurses & Doctors Have to Say

  • Great information, helpful in my nursing practice-feel more equipped, compassion, understanding.

  • Everything with this subject is almost never touched upon, the resources available are questionable or non-existent!

  • I’m grateful to have this new perspective.

  • Small changes were provided that we can started making now.

  • Excellent presentation-very much needed in all hospitals.

  • Eye opening!

Families are much more varied and unique than they have traditionally been. And while nurses in women’s health, obstetric and neonatal facilities are well prepared to serve the “traditional” family, many say they feel ill- equipped to serve unique families.

With changes in how families are created and the diversity in family structure on the rise, it is increasingly imperative that health care systems consider new processes to care for the unique family population.

Highlighted at the AWHONN 2018 Annual Conference, Dixie Weber and Rebecca Vahle will empower healthcare professionals to address the unique needs of families and the best practice approaches for supporting them.

This continuing education activity is pending approval for 1.5 CMEs by Colorado Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. There may be a modest fee for CMEs.
