You’re invited to attend a FREE training highlighting the unique issues involved in serving communities and consumers with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) and guidance for HUD-funded housing programs . This seminar is ideal for nonprofits, local government staff, case workers, and housing programs that receive HUD, CDBG, HOME, and/or ESG funding.
Lancaster Housing Opportunity Partnership's, Housing Equality & Equity Institute is partnering with the Housing Equality Center of PA and Bethany Christian Services to provide this valuable training. Attendees will receive information on the various LEP populations currently living in the City and County of Lancaster; barriers LEP consumers face in obtaining housing; eligibility for various Federal housing programs; and language resources to assist nonprofits and local governments serving LEP families and consumers.
In addition, attendees will receive information on fair housing laws as they relate to LEP populations, the discriminatory housing practices commonly reported by immigrants and refugees in their search for housing, and resources available to victims of discrimination.
