Services week 2020: Designing for the future - Solving the right problem
Event Information
About this Event
At LGSS Digital, we have been building and developing our design capability for a number of years and have worked on some exciting design projects when we have been tasked with interesting problems to solve. But what happens when there isn't a pipeline of interesting projects or an organisation instead has a list of solutions they want to implement?
This interactive section will take a step back and help you explore the perils of being solution-focused. Hear real stories of design failure, then learn how to prevent this with a range of tools to frame your projects and get to the root cause of the problem.
If you've been involved in complex projects in the public sector that haven't delivered the desired outcomes, SNAP, I have too! With finite resources, how do we make sure that we are working on the projects that will make the most difference and deliver the most value?
This workshop will help you be open and honest about what hasn't worked with peers across the sector. Find the value of critical questioning, and use your own examples of projects to practice mapping and problem statements to zone in on your objectives.
Expect to leave with a new feeling of motivation and a bunch of ideas to share with your team.
