Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

Friends of the National Zoo is currently accepting volunteer groups to assist the Smithsonian's National Zoo's gardeners and horticulturists with a variety of projects around the Zoo, including raking, weeding, planting, mulching, cleaning signs and glass, preparing for events, and grounds clean up. Volunteer groups will be required to perform physical labor in an outdoor setting, rain or shine.

Volunteers must be capable of outdoor physical activity, willing to get dirty and be able to work in all types of weather. Training will be provided on the job.

The meet up is just inside the Connecticut Avenue pedestrian gates. People are encouraged to take the metro, but if you drive, be aware that there is a $22 flat fee for parking (certain FONZ membership levels come with free parking, so if anyone in your group is a FONZ member, they can use that member benefit.). The closest lot is Parking Lot A. You can also find street parking and then just go to the main pedestrian gates.
