Event description

Description

Interested in learning more about the practice of service design? Austin Center for Design (AC4D) students have worked with local Texas businesses to develop and test improvements to aspects of their services. Come see our students present the results of their efforts.

There will be two presentations:

Students Garrett Bonfanti and Conner Drew will present their work with We Are Blood (formerly known as The Blood Center of Central Texas). In their service design concepts, Garrett and Conner are exploring the connection between donor and recipient; mechanisms to drive consistent donation behavior; and donor perceptions around their level of informedness during the giving process.

Students Kelsey Willard, Elijah Parker, and Sally Hall will present their work with Farmhouse Delivery. In their service design concepts, Kelsey, Elijah, and Sally are exploring the clarity of the sign-up, delivery, and cooking stages from the perspective of the customer; and opportunities to build stronger connections between customers and farmers.

Presentations start at 7:00 PM and finish at approximately 8:00 PM, followed by an opportunity to meet current students, faculty, alumni, and members of the Austin design community.

This event will be live streamed on the AC4D facebook page.

About Austin Center for Design

Austin Center for Design, an educational program in Austin, Texas, is a unique school intended to help you develop autonomy through design.

INTERACTION DESIGN

We teach the practice and theory of interaction design—designing products, services, and interactions to change human behavior and improve the world.

HUMANITARIAN FOCUS

Our emphasis is on addressing humanitarian problems. We focus on problems that matter, and students learn to recontextualize design in the space of large-scale "wicked problems."

SMALL CLASSES

Our classes sizes are small—providing extensive face-time with professors and the opportunity to form lasting relationships with a growing support network.

A SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY

We've developed a supportive, collaborative community of alumni to help current students succeed and to help one-another drive impact.
