Description

Service Design + Data Workshop

As service designers we work with users and organisations to help them with their challenges. We set out strategies and work with methods that put users at the heart of any solutions we create. The services we are working with are increasingly powered by digital capabilities, which means we are not just dealing with users and their physical presence, but also their digital one in the form of data. It is crucial that as a community our understanding of user’s data and the way in which it’s used is ethical, empathic and compliant.

This workshop will be an opportunity to test and evaluate a resource that is being developed for service designers. It will aim to improve awareness, knowledge and agency when it comes to designing with data.

Lauren Abraham is currently studying for a Masters in Service Design at the Royal College of Art. This is work she's been developing on her course and Doteveryone is supporting Lauren to test the work out in the field with service designers.

Doteveryone believes that ethical design shouldn't need specialists, and that practical ways of designing ethics into digital services should become commonplace.
