Event description

Description

Put your party pants on and join us for Serenity’s Steps Art Show Benefit // human•ness (+ St. Patty's Day After Party!)

Tickets | $20 (includes food + 2 drink tickets)

This event is sponsored by Serenity's Steps, an Atlanta based non-profit that seeks to walk alongside those in the commercial sex industry and the sexually exploited as they pursue hope, dignity, and self-sufficiency. The vision is to create a series of resources and environments that enable sex workers and the sexually exploited to flourish.

We believe that all human beings are inherently valuable not because of what they do, but because of what they are. Our equality is based on our common human nature, not our material possessions. Therefore, we treat everyone as dignified even when she believes her experiences and circumstances communicate the contrary.

A portion of the proceeds will go towards re-launching our vocational development program, That Grace Restored, which specailizes in handmade paper products and Letterpress printing. We collaborate with women who have been exploited in the commercial sex industry to make fine-quality hand made goods with the purpose of seeing them reach self-sufficiency and renewed personal dignity.

Our product itself speaks to the healing and repurposing of each woman’s life – we craft hand made paper out of used, seemingly unwanted scraps of paper and showcase it in beautiful journals, cards and stationary. Along with providing a means of dignified employment at a fair wage, we offer a vocational development program that equips women employed at That Grace Restored to succeed in the workplace, both here and beyond.
The program has currently been tabled while we seek to raise the appropriate funding to pay our artisans a fair wage for their craft skill.
Wear green, drink a beer, buy some art, and support an incredibly powerful cause. There's no better way to St. Patty!
Hope to see you there!
