Event description

Description

A vast expanse of brick barrel arches, the catacombs are all that remain of Tomlinson Hall, which burned in 1958 and was torn down by the city. Visitors can see the huge limestone pillars that supported the hall, explore the network of arches, and learn the history of the underground labyrinth, which includes its use as a storage facility during the flood of 1913, and a refuge for the city’s homeless during the bitterest winters.

Join Circle City Connect as we explore some of Indianapolis' history! We will meet our tour guide in the main market building at City Market next to the demonstration kitchen. You will be emailed a waiver, be sure to bring it with you the day of the tour. Tours last 30 minutes, and will begin at 6pm, 6:30pm, 7pm, and 7:30pm. Tickets are $12, and go on sale at 5pm on 8/7. Limit 4 tickets per order.

Starting at 6pm, before or after your tour, join us for a beer at the Tomlinson Tap Room (not included in the price)! Located on the Mezzanine Level of the Historic Market House, south west corner.
