Patrick Miller, Archer International

What you need to know to contribute to the cyber risk discussion at the executive level. Utility boards and senior management are not interested in security for the sake of security; they care about managing risk at the organization level. Whether it's compliance or operations, much of cybersecurity activity today is busy work with little long term risk reduction. See the bigger picture and learn how to make decisions from a risk management approach, and more importantly how to effectively communicate with executives and board members to get the support you need for a truly successful cybersecurity program.

Patrick Miller has dedicated his career to the protection and defense of critical infrastructures. As Managing Partner at Archer International, he is a trusted independent security and regulatory advisor for industrial control systems worldwide. Mr. Miller is also the founder, director and president emeritus of EnergySec and US. Coordinator for the Industrial Cybersecurity Center. Patrick's diverse background spans the Energy, Telecommunications, Water, Manufacturing and Financial Services verticals including key positions with regulatory agencies, private consulting firms, utility asset owners and commercial organizations.

Tricia A. Howard

Abstract: If this year has taught us anything, it's that digital communication is an art form, especially over social media. In this talk, Tricia will be focusing on ways to have your digital communication be more authentic, especially around cold outreach in a networking sense.

Tricia, a native Texan now living in the magnificent New York City, Tricia Howard is an artist gone rogue who ended up in the wonderful world of security. With a B.A. in Theatre Arts and interests ranging from Star Wars to Opera, she brings a unique and artistic perspective to the security world. When she’s not creating content, jigsaw puzzling, doing stand-up comedy, or protecting her Pomsky, Darth, you can find her at HolistiCyber. She is currently the Marketing Manager where she brings awareness to the nation-state threat across the digital landscape.
