First Assistant Editor Julian Smirke visits us from Los Angeles to discuss working on STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS. Julian will screen footage and share the importance of his role in the editorial and storytelling process.
ABOUT JULIAN SMIRKE
Julian Smirke is a First Assistant Editor and an aspiring Film Editor. Originally from Perth, Australia he grew up a world away from the film industry. In 2001 he moved to Los Angeles to pursue editing work in feature films. Some of his credits include: Mission: Impossible III (2006), Star Trek (2009), Super 8 (2011) Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011) and Star Trek Into Darkness (2013). Julian is currently editing a short film, Aden (2013) and is the First Assistant Editor on Endless Love (2014) for Universal Studios.

BOSCPUG is proud to work with Emerson Visual and Media Arts to offer an evening of production and post-production conversation in the intimate and state of the art Bright Family 2K Screening Room at The Paramount Center at Emerson College.
Named for the family of Kevin Bright '76, the Bright Family Screening Room seats approximately 200 people. It features the latest film and 2K digital video projection including 35mm. The dramatic double-height Gallery and Lobby connects to the Paramount Mainstage.
