Event description

Description

This workshop will explore relations between sensory regulation and the emergence of childhood psychopathology. Poor sensory regulation will be discussed as a temperament variable which places children at risk for later psychopathology. Recommendations for early intervention will be provided.

Dr. Karen R. Gouze is a clinical child psychologist. She has published many articles on the development of psychopathology during the pre-school years and has co-authored a book on sensory processing, The Sensory Sensitive Child: Practical Solutions for Out-of-Bounds Behavior. For the past 34 years Dr. Gouze has worked at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. She holds the appointment of full professor in the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

This seminar is co-sponsored by the Center for Practice Excellence at Jewish Child and Family Services
