SeniorSafe: Preventing Financial Exploitation of the Elderly Training

Please make plans to join us on September 23 in Washington, D.C. for “Senior$afe,” a training program focused on protecting our city’s seniors from financial exploitation.

The Senior$afe program was developed nationally by a consortium of regulators, Adult Protective Services, law enforcement, and industry groups to reduce financial exploitation of seniors.

What will the training cover?

  • The importance of the issue of financial exploitation of seniors;

  • Signs of cognitive decline;

  • Signs of financial exploitation;

  • Reporting of suspected financial abuse of seniors to the District’s Adult Protective Services and DISB;

  • And information about additional government and nonprofit entities that are resources in cases of suspected exploitation.

Who should attend?

  • Financial services professionals who are based in Washington, D.C. and have direct contact with customers.
