Event description
The Senior Service Expo is designed to acquaint you with organizations that provide services to the elderly and their families.

About this Event

The Expo, sponsored by Episcopal Charities, will take place at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 99 Peirce Street, East Greenwich, from 8:30am 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 19, 2019. Registration starts at 8:30am and the program begins promtly at 9am.

Many members of our congregations are senior citizens. Many others are families concerned about the seniors they care for. It’s not uncommon for people in our communities to face issues such as retirement planning, transitions to assisted living or nursing care, in-home care resources, signs of dementia, elder abuse, hospice care, and funeral planning. The Senior Service Expo is designed to acquaint you with organizations that advocate for seniors or provide resources and guidance for seniors and their families. You will have the opportunity to interact with representatives from the AARP, state government, legal services, assisted and long-term care facilities, the Alzheimer’s Association, hospice, and much more! We will begin with a talk by Kathleen Heren of the Better Long Term Care Alliance, followed by round robin conversations with a number of organizations. Hopefully, by the end of the morning, you will feel much more confident in helping parish members and loved ones face their challenges and find the services they need.
