Speaker Biographies:
Tony Shan, Head of Americas for TMall Global
Tony Shan joined Alibaba Group in 2017 and now serves as the Head of the Americas region for Alibaba Group’s cross-border B2C platforms, Tmall Global & Kaola. He leads a team of category experts in North America working with brands, retailers and SMEs to sell into the growing Chinese market. Prior to his work with ecommerce in China, Tony was the Merchandising and Marketing Lead for the apparel & footwear business at an Amazon subsidiary that operated U.S. ecommerce sites such as Diapers.com and Soap.com. He also gained global retail expertise working at Coach, in global merchandising and planning. Tony holds a BA in international marketing management from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Northwestern. He is currently based in Alibaba’s Manhattan office.
Fiona Chan, Marketing Manager for IBT Online
As Marketing Manager, Fiona Chan uses her experiences in social media and search engine marekting, while using Google/Facebook and Baidu/Weibo for the Chinese market. Fiona has a master’s degree in Comparative Literature from the University of Bristol in Bristol, England and a bachelor’s degree from Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She has marketing experience throughout the UK, and has built an international presence for US companies at IBT Online and in other positions. She has worked at IBT Online since 2019.
Andrew Lawlor, Business Development Manager for IBT Online
As the Midwest Business Development Manager for IBT Online, Andrew Lawlor works with the IBT Online team to help exporters in mid-America maximize their promotion and business opportunities.
Andrew majored in marketing at Western Michigan University, has studied abroad in Germany, and has family connections to Latin American culture, all of which help him help clients understand overseas customers’ perspectives.
