Event description
Let’s help clean our creeks by cleaning up in our own neighborhoods and local natural areas.

About this event

Trash can travel through storm drains, creeks, and rivers to become Bay pollution. Pollution prevention starts at our front doors.

Can't make it to one of our in-person creek cleanup sites, but still looking to join the efforts? Register your self-guided neighborhood cleanup today and help be the solution to water pollution!

You won't be able to obtain permission to clean in a creek, but you can still help keep creeks clean by cleaning up in our own neighborhoods and local natural areas.

Only collect as much as you can carry during your cleanup and have space to dispose of in your home trash and recycling bins. When registering, you will have the option to pick up basic cleanup supplies: trash bags, gloves, and litter sticks. Details are provided after registration. Before you explore this option, we STRONGLY encourage you to re-purpose items from home, like gardening gloves and grocery bags.

By registering, you will receive tips on conducting a safe and effective cleanup. Register your cleanup to stay connected with thousands of other residents hosting their own cleanups and to help us track the amount of trash we're keeping out of our streets and creeks.

Register today! Join us in cleaning up Santa Clara County!

Talk Trash and help spread the word by sharing posts and photos through social media using the hashtag #NRCD2022. Tag us @scvwd on IG/FB or @valleywater on Twitter.

What is the difference between individual registration and group registration?

Individual registration: Registration for INDIVIDUALS or SMALL GROUPS. A representative can register all volunteers ON BEHALF OF THEIR TEAM. A total of 25 people can be added per registration, but you can make multiple registrations.

(e.g. A club supervisor registers all students interested in joining the club's self-guided cleanup around their school. Cleanup details are coordinated independently by the club supervisor and shared with the students.)

Group registration: Registration for LARGER GROUPS. A representative can start a GROUP NAME (password optional) and instruct all volunteers on the team to REGISTER THEMSELVES through group registration under their unique group name (share the password if you have created one).

(e.g. A club supervisor registers through group registration and creates the group name: Environmental Club at B High School. All interested students are asked to register themselves through group registration under the group name "Environmental Club at B High School". Cleanup details are coordinated independently by the club supervisor and shared with the students.)
