Individuals or small groups are welcome to visit the Museum of the American Printing House for the Blind, free of charge, Mon.– Fri. 8:30am–4:30pm* and Sat. 10am–3pm, no reservations necessary.
*Closed Derby Day and Federal Holidays
Explore the history of the education of people who are blind in a fun and accessible setting. Write your name using a mechanical braille writer. Learn about other raised-letter and tactile alphabets that once competed with braille. Experience what it is like to have a wealth of knowledge at the tips of your fingers. Labels are provided in braille, large print, and recorded formats.
Museum visitors may also choose to take a Guided Factory & Museum Tour during their stay. Tours last about 1.5 hours and are offered Mon.– Thurs. and every other Fri. at 10am and 2pm, no reservations required (Closed Federal Holidays).
