Self-Employment Skills for Entrepreneurs

James Chan, PhD, owner of his independent business practice since 1983, will share hard-won lessons on how to start, run and sustain a one-person business. This talk will benefit those who never feel right working for others, who are unhappy work their jobs, and those 50+ people who feel that they must prepare for corporate down-sizing and layoffs. Dr. Chan will use his book, Spare Room Tycoon, as his personal canon to relate the importance of (1) Self-knowledge, (2) Passion, (3) Action, (4) Realization, and (5) Evolution in learning how to find paying customers, how to charge, how to get paid, and how to stay motivated when the phone is not ringing. Come with a lot of questions and they will be answered with real-life examples.
