Description

We are conducting focus groups on the topic of self-determination skill building with african american males aged 18-22 who has an intellectual disability, one of their caregivers/parents, and an educator or transition coordinator who supports them in these local school divisions: Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfiled, or Hanover.

Each focus group will run approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours max, including refreshment breaks. Stipends of $50 each are available to compensate for time and travel. Below are the dates and locations:

April 3rd 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. -- Chamberlayne Elementary School, 8200 St Charles Road, Richmond

April 4th 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. -- VCU Partnership for People with Disabilities 700 E. Franklin Street, Richmond

April 10th 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. -- VCU Partnership for People with Disabilities, 700 E. Franklin Street, Richmond

April 11th 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. -- TBD

While we encourage the young male, his caregiver/parent, and a school member to come together as a team to the focus group, we are offering multiple focus group dates and times if that is not possible. Click on the link above to select the date that best works for you.
