Hosted by the Be Victorious Project Taught by Alex Flores Self Defense classes are not only beneficial for the obvious reasons of protection against a perpetrator. They are also a great way to build empowerment, strength, and self esteem. Physical activity in a group can give you a strong sense of community and support. In our class we will learn some basic tools that could help us in situations of rape and abuse. All levels of experience welcome! A note from Alex: I've been practicing martial arts for ten years, I have two black belts, one in Tae Kwon Do and one in Hapkido. I placed in state for both at different points in my life. Second and first in state for Tae Kwon Do two separate years and third in state for Hapkido. I also wrestled for four years. I was a part of two state wrestling championships and placed third individually my senior year of high school. I used to assistant teach classes where I used to practice. Looking forward to teaching this self defense workshop!
