Self-care for community leaders, activists and organizers
Fri, April 28, 2017, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM PDT
Compassion fatigue, burnout, vicarious traumatization, all terms created to describe the aftereffects of the challenging situations and everyday ethical dilemmas that we face in the social justice and helping field. How can you/we do this work in a way that is healthier and supportive of ourselves and others and continue to thrive in an environment that is challenging?
In this workshop we will set aside some time to go through several experiential activities destined to provide respite and care within the supportive environment of a community of peers and colleagues who share similar experiences in the field and make your/our self care part of our job.
