The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix invites faculty, staff and students to join us for a luncheon lecture by Barry Kerzin, MD, personal physician to the 14th Dalai Lama and founder of the Altruism Medicine Institute. Dr. Kerzin will deliver a once-in-a-lifetime lecture focusing on the role of altruism in medicine and healthy mental states in fostering a more peaceful existence. Lunch and refershments will be provided for those who register who before April 20, 2018.

This is an EXCLUSIVE event for students, faculty and staff. Dr. Kerzin stresses that compassion is an active endeavor, not passive. In this free Mini-Medical School lunch session, Dr. Kerzin will discuss emotional hygiene – how do we manage anger, fear, jealousy and arrogance, and how do we practice forgiveness and gratitude daily? Attendees will also learn about developing a “healthy” level of self-confidence and participate in a walking meditation and mindfulness exercise where they learn to focus on the breath.

Dr. Kerzin will also be the presenter at Mini-Medical school at 5:30 p.m. the same day. We encourge you to join us at his exciting presentation Returning Home: The “Why” of Medicine. Registration is encouraged.
