Biotech has emerged as one of the key drivers of the San Francisco Bay Area economy, generating more than $159 billion in revenue and almost 180,000 direct jobs. Beyond that, it represents many of the region - and the state’s – great strengths, particularly in innovation. Despite the costs of setting up a business, the Bay Area boasts many advantages: first-class research institutions, a ready and upskilled workforce, a complementary ecosystem, and strong funding streams.
In this two-day program, GlobalSF and QB3 will give participants the opportunity to delve into the vibrant biotech economy in the San Francisco Bay Area, providing an overview and analysis of the region’s biotech industry, look at support and incentives for investment, examine the relationship between research institutions, accelerator programs and startups, and provide opportunities for matchmaking.
Participants will emerge with a solid understanding of the toolkit needed to participate in the dynamic biotech environment here in the San Francisco Bay Area.
