Event description

Description

Witness the challenges, hopes and inspiring stories of those living with rare diseases.

DISORDER: The Rare Disease Film Festival showcases a curated lineup of films addressing the challenges and struggles patients, and their families, living with a rare disease face on day-to-day basis. These films put the often abstract and dire clinical information into the context of real people living their lives.

Taking place on Thursday, September 12, Selections from DISORDER: The Rare Disease Film Festival will be held as part of Biotech Week Boston for the second year. The following films will be screened at this year's event:

  • Lou | Angelman Syndrome | 8 minutes
  • Menkes Disease- Finding Help & Hope | Menkes Disease | 5 minutes
  • Unconditional | PACS1 Syndrome | 10 minutes
  • Ian | Animated film | 10 minutes
  • Perfect Brothers | Goldenhar Syndrome | 4.5 minutes
  • Tess is not Alone | USP7 Gene Mutation | 8 minutes
  • Edge of Hope | Batten Disease, Sanfilippo Syndrome, Epidermolysis Bullosa, Myfio Myopathy | 30 minutes
  • Counting Every Second | Giant Axonal Neuropathy (GAN) | 10 minutes

The screenings aim to build connections between the biopharma community, patient advocacy groups, patients, and those who are passionate about finding cures for those living with rare diseases, which may ultimately lead to new paths for research.
