Description

"Seen and Heard: Cultural Organizations and the LGBTQ Experience" - From local historical sites to national organizations such as the National Park Service and the American Alliance of Museums, cultural heritage and cultural arts professionals are part of the evolution of the field to tell more inclusive stories, particularly highlighting marginalized and erased communities. Dr. Susan Ferentinos, public historian, writer, consultant, and author of Interpreting LGBT History at Museums and Historic Sites will introduce current trends and issues in US LGBTQ historical interpretation. She will be joined by Jordan Ryan, Indiana Historical Society, and Mike Barclay, Indianapolis Contemporary, to discuss Indianapolis’ LGBTQ history, historic preservation, and cultural arts initiatives. What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Parking lot directly behind building, off New York Street. Parking is free for attendees, on a first come, first serve basis.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You do not need to bring a ticket with you, but we will check your name off a list upon arrival.

Is my ticket transferrable?

You may give your ticket to someone else, but we will check your name off a list upon arrival so the person using your ticket should give your name.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

It is fine to use someone else's ticket. Please be sure to mention the origianal reservation name when you are checking in.

Are walk-ins allowed?

Walk-ins are welecome, unless all seats have been reserved prior to the start of the event.
