Precision Teaching and Standard Celeration Charts are fundamental tools utilized to teach students functional skills to increase fluency and retain over time. However, in order for Precision Teaching to play a significant role in teaching skills to fluency, one must be competent at making appropriate data based decisions during Precision Teaching sessions. The purpose of Precision Teaching is to improve upon each individuals’ data based decision making skills. You will receive an introductory training in Precision Teaching, Standard Celeration Charting and making data based decisions. We will provide examples of baseline data that will be collected on the number of correct and incorrect data based decisions made over the length-of-time the observer spent in daily timings. Precision Teaching comes from a very strong quantitative scientific basis and was pioneered by Ogden Lindsley in the 1960s based largely on Skinner's operant conditioning.
