Berry Good Food (BGF) is thrilled to announce the return of our annual School Gardens fundraiser, “Seeds for the Future,” an unforgettable event with our local and sustainable culinary community of chefs, farmers, fishermen, winemakers, distillers, and brewers.
Proceeds from the dinner will help fund school garden grants for the 2022-23 school year in San Diego County with an application process beginning online at BerryGoodFood.org in Fall 2022. Since 2017, BGF has awarded more than $50,000 in grants to 23 schools with garden programs in our shared bioregion of San Diego and northern Baja.
New this year, Berry Good Food is expanding the scope of the "Seeds for the Future" fundraiser by offering three uniquely styled dinners in three different locations around San Diego as a Summer Series!
For the second of the three events, join us on July 9th at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Encinitas for a four-course, al fresco, family-style dinner on the outdoor patio with an exceptional wood-fired menu using seasonal and local ingredients from Animae Executive Chef Tara Monsod and Herb & Wood Executive Chef Carlos Anthony.
Venissimo Cheese, with three locations in San Diego serving the best selections from around the world, will present a luxurious charcuterie spread to kick the evening off.
Regenerative, grass-fed, grass-finished beef from Perennial Pastures Ranch in Santa Ysabel, San Diego County, will be featured, plus seafood and vegetable offerings.
Westward Whiskey will be creating a signature cocktail and offering paired tasters of its single malt with each course. One Hope sparkling, red and white wines from Caves Wine Shop and Windy Oaks Estate, and Shootz Japanese lager will also be offered.
Enjoy live music from singer/songwriter/guitarist Matt Reischling (who will be debuting our new BGF theme song!), tour the art exhibitions on display in the adjacent rooms, bid on a silent auction, and hear from special guests involved in the Berry Good Food school garden program.
As always, it will be a fun and fantastic night with amazing food and drink, engaging with our local food community and supporters of a wonderful cause!
Tickets are also on sale for our last dinner in the Summer Series on August 13th with Juniper and Ivy's Chef Anthony Wells and SDCM's (The Waverly, Camino Riviera, Kettner Exchange) Chef Brian Redzikowski:
