Description

“Seedlings Sprout! Camp is an exciting and intergenerational way to counter consumerism and deepen spirituality while kicking off your heels and getting hands in the soil!” ~ LA Parent Magazine

"As a parent, of all the great classes I do with my children, Netiya's Seedlings Sprout! is by far the most enriching experience I have with my toddler - it is equally beneficial for the parent and the child."

~ Marissa Nadjarian

FAQ'S:

What does a typical class look like? We start each class with a Nature Hunt in the garden for all of the children and parents, (please arrive on time whenever possible). We then move into an activity focused on the day's theme. Together, we rest and enjoy our garden snack in the shade and end with an observation/mindful meditation.

What do I do if my child has food or bee allergies? Our classes are nut-free, all food grown/served is non-GMO, and organic. We ask that parents don't pack nut related snacks and we serve no nuts as part of our programming. We can accommodate additional food allergies and will work with you to ensure your child is able to participate in the garden snacks during the session. There is always the presence of honeybees in the garden. If your child has a severe allergy and has an epipen, the instructors will carry this epipen with them at all times and we will work with you to create a medical plan that feels comfortable to you.

What precautions are taken in relation to the sun and heat? We have a shade structure and a fan. We always have water available, and invite parents to closely monitor water intake to ensure they and their child stay adequately hydrated. Each participant is required to wear a sun hat during the day.

Netiya empowers people to grow food on faith-based lands in LA. Rooted in ancient traditions of land stewardship and earth-based wisdom, together we plant – growing food to mitigate hunger and to nourish the spirit. Netiya’s urban homestead grows heaps of yummy organic food in our yard and raises chickens. The home is entirely pesticide-free and as water-wise as possible given the insane heat of the Valley.
