Description
SEED (Supporting Entrepreneurship in Education) 3.0 is a crowd-funded and -sourced opportunity for education entrepreneurs and teachers to compete for cash prizes and, even more importantly, present their ideas before an engaged audience of potential funders, users, collaborators, and community members.
There are two categories for this year’s SEED event. The first category is for education entrepreneurs (either non-profit or for-profit); the winner of this category will win $5,000. The second category is specifically for teachers or groups of teachers who are focused on bringing innovation and leadership to their school but are committed to remaining in the classroom as teachers; the winner of this category will win $2,500. The winners of both categories will also be able to attend Penn's Fels Institute of Government class - Social Innovations Lab - free of charge. Learn more about the class here - http://www.fels.upenn.edu/course/social-innovations-lab.
SEED 3.0 will take place on Wednesday, October 16th from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at City Hall. The event will take place at City Hall, beginning in the City Council Caucus Room on the 4th floor at 6pm, and moving into the City Council Chambers at 7pm. Please be sure to enter at the NE corner.
Come support your local education entrepreneurs and teachers! $25 will get you an evening of food, drinks, and inspiring ideas. If you cannot attend, any and all donations are welcome. Ticket proceeds and donations will go to the winner. Additionally, a large portion of this year's monetary prize comes from a StartUp PHL grant awarded to PhillyCORE Leaders.
Tickets will also be available at the door the evening of the event.
