Description

The Sedona International City of Peace, Rotary Club of Sedona and Sedona Public Library are proud to host our Third Sedona Human Library™ event, Sunday, September 22rd, 10:00AM-1:00PM. Attendees may select from up to three 45-minute sessions available for you to 'Read' a Human Book. Choose to 'read' a live Human Book that you may be aware/unaware of holding a negative opinion, prejudice, stereotype and even contempt for. Listen to their 15-minute story of being marginalized, categorized, or stigmatized for their differences, ask questions of curiosity, engage in dialogue and possibly shift your understanding and compassion of those people with whom you have differed. Expand your awareness of the limitations you may have set for yourself to connect with people in our community in a whole new and understanding way. There are so many ways that we connect with others and sometimes the one thing holding the connection at bay is our lack of understanding.

This year we have 26 Human Books with stigmas and labels from Transgender, African-Catholic-Lesbian, Weird/Body-Modified; Felon; Victim; Divorcee; Brown-skin Muslim; Privileged Class; and ....

The goal is to dissolve prejudices with people one might normally avoid or dismiss, and gain understanding and possibly develop new ways of relating. Come away with new connections!

The event is FREE. Simply bring yourself and loved ones to open your mind, expand your heart and take a bold brave step in bringing harmony to our community.

Please register anyone else using the link below today for the Sedona Human Library™, space is limited.
