Description
Built in 1834, the Canton Viaduct is Canton's most iconic historic places. Federally recognized as a National Historic Site, and one of the oldest stone arch bridges still in use today - the story of the Viaduct is remarkable.
The bridge represents a fantastic connection among design, architecture and the marvel of civil engineering. This walking tour will bring to life the men who conceived of the idea of spanning the Neponset River with a bridge that has lasted for more than 180 years. Today's modern technology has transformed the bridge into a vital structure along the Northeast Corridor from Boston to New York.
This is a one-hour guided tour. The tour is scheduled rain or shine - refunds are available up to 1 day in advance of the tour.
All proceeds from the sale of tickets will be used to support the founding of the Paul Revere Heritage Corporation.
