It's time for The MacGuffin/Grapes of Rad Secret Movie Night IV on Thurs, Feb 28th!
What are we showing? We can't tell you! But, here's what notoriously "stick-up-its-ass" media review site commonsensemedia.org had to say about this 1990 comic book adaptation:
"The abundant martial arts violence caused some controversy at the time (in Britain this 'family film' was actually censored from children), [and] an aura of menace and brutality settles over the film when it's human against human."
An anonymous 9 yr-old reviewer on the same site also commented "no bad words but d--- and it's darkness is not bad the sequel was better and the third was bad but that's my opinion the movie itself is great."
Join us at The Rat & Raven in the U-District at 5260 University Way NE in Seattle for some food/drinks at 6:00. (According to their site, minors are allowed until 10pm!) Our 1hr 33m movie starts at 9:00 at Grand Illusion Cinema a few blocks south at 1403 N 50th St.
