Description

Second Window
Art Exhibit
January 25-27, 2019
MuzeuMM
4817 W Adams Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90016

Diving into issues such as power, control, violence, and trauma, this art exhibit gracefully echoes the age of the Me Too movement, while asking its viewers to confront these issues through the most vulnerable structure, the human body. The art pieces, constructed by two distinct contemporary artists, Francesca Lalanne and Ofelia Marquez, embrace simple building materials, such as wood and plaster, to connect one’s mind and its expression on the human form. Their pieces also merge on the universal concept that violence is not merely about the victim, but society’s institutions, structures, and order that perpetuates the behavior. And though the artists’ pieces diverge in form and style, the projected multiplicity of the individual mind remains entrancingly constant.
