Target Species: Downy, Hairy, Pileated, Red-headed and Red-bellied woodpeckers, Northern Flickers, Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers
Description: Will we see seven species of woodpecker on this walk? 'Tis the season. Downy, Hairy, Pileated and Red-bellied are year-round residents. Northern Flickers and Red-headed Woodpeckers are arriving for summer nesting. Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers are passing through in migration. The monthly Second Saturday walks are a great opportunity for birders of all skill levels to enjoy the woods and wetlands around the Cleveland Metroparks Rocky River Nature Center. New to birding? You will be amazed how much you can learn in this friendly group.
