Seated Exercise Training
Overview
Our Seated Exercise Practitioner training package has been designed to enable course participates to support their community and to encourage older people to be more active and lead more fulfilling lives. This may be through volunteering to deliver exercise classes, being a buddy to an older person, or setting up and running care home activities.
Our training can be delivered to health and social care organisations, volunteers and individuals.
Our training covers:
- The benefits of physical activity for older people
- Planning sessions and conducting risk assessments
- Communicating with individuals with sensory, physical, or cognitive impairments
- A wide range of practical exercises, including TheraBand, pelvic floor, and balance work
- Session evaluation and record keeping
- A practical assessment
Each participant receives a comprehensive training pack which is used throughout the training and a certificate upon completion.
At the end of this course each participant will have a comprehensive understanding of the benefits of chair based exercises and will be confident to plan and deliver sessions to individuals, or groups of older people.
